Where do the times come from?

Arrival times come from the MTA's real-time data feeds and refresh while the app is open. "Updated" at the top of Nearby shows how fresh they are; pull down to refresh.

What does the diamond mean?

A diamond in the line's color marks an express train. During rush hours the MTA runs diamond express trips on the 6, 7 and F that skip local stops.

Why don't I see any nearby trains?

Nearby needs location access to find the stations around you. Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Now Departing. It covers New York City subway stations, so outside the city you can still browse any station from the Lines tab.

How do I save a favorite?

Swipe left or right on any train in Nearby, or open a train and tap Add to Favorites. Favorites show up in the Favorites tab and in the widgets.

How do I follow a train on my Lock Screen?

Open any train from Nearby, Lines or Favorites and its countdown appears as a Live Activity on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Going back to the list ends it.

Does it work on Apple Watch?

Yes. Install it from the Watch app on your iPhone, or from the App Store on your watch, to see nearby trains and your favorites at a glance.
